No it’s not boys you can bring fatwa as the female sahabiyat name were khuzaima also in Arabic regions in Lebanon Iraq even in Palestine we name girls khuzaima. As Afnan has female meaning but also given to males. And yes it is not forbidden to name females males name in Islam we are commanded to give name that have beautiful and good meanings. So in this context ALLAH swt and prophet Muhammad SAW didn’t forbid us to name females that also used for boys. It’s just a cultural thing so you can go and take fatwa and keep the points clear as I think so you didn’t read the islam as deep as a human intuition can be.
      Rest ALLAH knows best

@1: As mentioned above, there is a female companion of the Prophet (Sahabiyyah) whose name is Khuzaimah, therefore your claim is incorrect. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, would change any name that he found inappropriate, but since he didn’t change the Sahabiyyah Khuzaimah’s name, it shows that it is an acceptable name for girls.

If you can provide a fatwa from a respected source, we will be happy to look at it insha’Allah.
