in reply to: is urwah a suitable name for boys? #120159

    Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah,

They are all acceptable names. I couldn’t tell you which one is best since preferences for names are completely a matter of personal opinion.

in reply to: root words SBL #120158

Subal can be considered a variant of Subul, which is the plural of Sabeel, therefore it is an acceptable name.

Subal Jannah doesn’t exactly create a new meaning, though it can be considered to mean “paths of paradise”. The more correct form would be Subal al-Jannat, but you can use Subal Jannah if you prefer this form.

in reply to: Umar Ayman meaning #120156

    Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah,

In Islam it is allowed to have any number of names you like. Arabs and thus the early Muslims only had one name, but this is not a religious requirement, just a cultural practice. Other cultures have multiple names, and there is no issue with this.

Umar Ayman together do not create a new meaning, each name keeps its own meaning. The meanings you mentioned yourself.

in reply to: Ainan Husni #120149

Ainan means “two eyes” and “two fountains”, “two springs”. Husni means “handsome”, “good-looking”. The form of Ainan is more common for boys, but it depends on culture and some cultures may use it for girls.

The first and third names are acceptable. As for the second one, we have no information on the Tasnuva, therefore we cannot give a ruling on it.

in reply to: can I keep #120145

Yes you can. Mikail is from Hebrew and means “who is like God?” and it is the name of an angel mentioned in the Quran. It is acceptable to use it since using the names of angels is allowed in Islam.

in reply to: Name meaning #120144

    Assalamu alaikum,

Yusairah is the diminutive form of Yusrah (not Yusra), which means “easy”, “without difficulty”. Both are acceptable names.

I found two Sahabiyyat with this name, Yusairah Umm Yasir and Yusairah bint Mulail.

in reply to: Arabic meaning for Audriana. #120142

Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah, I do not know of any Arabic name like Audriana. The name seems to be a combination of the two Western names Audrey and Adriana or Ariana, or simply an elaboration of Audrey. Audrey means “noble strength”, which is a good meaning, therefore the name and any names derived from it are acceptable for Muslim children. Adriana means “woman from the Adriatic region”, which is an acceptable meaning. Ariana is the Italian form of Ariadne, which is a figure from classical Greek mythology and the name has a meaning like “holy”. Since this is related to pagan mythology, it is questionable for a Muslim to use it. However, there is also the Persian name Ariana, which is the feminine form of Arian/Aryan, which means “noble”, “excellent”. Therefore if Audriana is a derivation of Adriana or (the Persian) Ariana, then in this way too it is an acceptable name for a Muslim child.

in reply to: Please suggest baby girl unique Muslim name #119939

We suggest any name that has a good meaning and that is liked by the baby’s family. We cannot really say anything more than this as choosing a baby name depends on the preferences of the parents, their relatives and their culture.

All those names have good meanings and they are all acceptable by us.

in reply to: Can i name my Son Eden ? #119938

    Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah,

Eden is an acceptable name as it can be considered the English translation of Adn/Aden.

in reply to: please suggest name for my son. #119937

    Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah,

Ubadah and Anas are both acceptable. Muhammad, Ahmad or Mustafa would be good too as Amin is one of the attributes of the Prophet (PBUH) and using another of the Prophet’s names with it would be fitting.
