Asalam-u-Alaikum, Sir could you explain the following pronunciation of Zara [pronounced as (Z)oom + h(U)mble + (R)ain + sm(A)rt]. I am confused how will it sound? Will it sound like Zura? or Zara? Thanks
This is an official answer by QuranicNames.com Staff
The "u" sound is like a short "a", so it is pronounced like Zaraa, the "a" after "Z" is short, the same as the "a" in Apple, or like the "u" in run, while the "aa" is long, like in stand. So it rhymes with "canal".
