Meaning of Elias
Elias is a direct Quranic name for boys that refers to one of the prophets mentioned in the Quran, who is also mentioned in the Bible. In English he is known as Elias and Elijah. The meaning of Elias is “Yahweh (Allah) is my God”. Elias is mentioned in two chapters of the Quran, as follows:
And We gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before; and among his descendants, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the doers of good. And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias – and all were of the righteous. (Quran 6:84-85)
And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers. When he said to his people, “Will you not fear Allah? Do you call upon Baal and leave the best of creators-Allah , your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?” (Quran 37:123-126)

That’s an interesting post 🙂
it says “Yaweh (Allah) is my God”
Please, if Yaweh is Allah, what is God in arabic?
Could it be “My God (Allah) is Yaweh?”

@The person who said “this is a lie”:
I don’t know what you’re talking about…?! This page isn’t lying, and none of us are deluding ourselves into believing any lies. Of course this name has Hebrew origins (none of us are denying this), BUT this prophet is mentioned in the Quran, so of course Muslims would like this name and some would use this name.
In case you didn’t know, the Arabic and Hebrew language do have similarites as they’re both Semitic languages and have common roots.
So even though it’s an Hebrew name, it’s also meaningful in the Arabic language too. 🙂
