A Quranic Name for Girls

Meaning: Brave, Strong and Courageous

Aasyra is variant of Aasira and has the exact same meaning and pronunciation (see below for full meaning). You can use either Aasyra or Aasira, both are correct and acceptable. If you like this variant more and you'd like to pronounce it the way it is spelled (different than the original name), this is perfectly acceptable. For more details please see the main entry at: Aasira.

Full Meaning of Aasyra

Aasyra is an indirect Quranic name for girls that means “captivator”, one who captivates one’s attention, or a powerful warrior who can overcome and imprison enemies. It is derived from the A-S-R root which is used in many places in the Quran.

It is not fit for a prophet that he should take captives unless he has fought and triumphed in the land; you desire the frail goods of this world, while Allah desires (for you) the hereafter; and Allah is Mighty, Wise. (Quran 8:67)
