Zyaad is an indirect Quranic name with the same meaning as Zayd and Zidan: “growth”, “progress”, “increase”, and “being blessed by God”.
Zyaad is derived from the Z-Y-D Quranic root which is used in a number of places in the Quran, such as in 10:26:
Those who do good works shall have a good reward and a surplus. No darkness and no ignominy shall cover their faces. They are destined for Paradise wherein they shall dwell forever.
