Full Meaning of Tahimit
Tahimit is an indirect Quranic name for boys and girls that means to praise, glorify, and thank Allah. It comes from the H6-M-D root which is also the root for Muhammad, Ahmad, and Allah’s name of al-Hameed. This root is used commonly in the Quran, such as in the word alhamdulillah (all praise is due to Allah alone).
All praise is due to Allah alone, the Lord of the Worlds. (Quran 1:2)
And We verily gave knowledge unto David and Solomon, and they said: Praise be to Allah, Who hath preferred us above many of His believing slaves! (Quran 27:15)
They said: ‘What, do you marvel at the command of Allah? The Mercy of Allah and His Blessings be upon you, O people of the House (of Prophet Ibrahim). Indeed, He is Praised, Exalted’ (Quran 11:73)
They are guided unto gentle speech; they are guided unto the path of the Glorious One. (Quran 22:24)
