Assalamu alaikum, Brothers & Sisters! I'd like to question on the pronunciation of the name Rayhaan. As I already see the details here to be a variant of Ray'han, and pronounced as RAY + Her + stANd (capital as syllable). and my real worry is on the first part of the name RAY, is it pronounced RAY - as in sun rays, x-ray, etc. (or) is it 'RAI' - as in rain, ripe, ride, etc. As in Arabic ريحان , here if the arabic letter ر - 'ray' has any zabr (vowel), then it'd become RA right or is the ' ر ' as it is? Please clarify, and the help is very much appreciated. Jazak'Allah. -Rizvi

Alaikumassalam wa rahmatullah,
The Ray part is pronounced like the English word "ray". The ر has a fathah as a vowel, as in رَيْحَان.
