Full Meaning of Aamer

Aamer is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “prosperous”, “full of life”, “one who has a long and prosperous life”. It is derived from the AIN-M-R root (“lifetime”, “to inhabit and enliven”) which is used in many places in the Quran.

Say, “If Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?” (Quran 10:16)
