Full Meaning of Mubtieh
Mubtieh means inventor, innovator, a creative person who makes or finds useful new things. Mubtieh is an indirect Quranic name, it is not directly mentioned in the Quran, but it is derived from the root B-D-AIN, which is used in the Quran and is also the root for one of the 99 names of God (Badee` – The Originator).
the Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could it be that He should have a child without there ever having been a mate for Him – since it is He who has created everything, and He alone knows everything? (Quran 6:101)
The word “innovation” has a negative connotation in Islamic literature, if you are worried that this name would have a relation to that, you can rest assured that it doesn’t. That would Mubtadi’ah, not Mubtieh. There is a negative word in Islamic literature, bid`ah, which means an innovation in religion, when a person falsely adds something or changes something in the Islamic religion. Such a person is called Mubtadi, and if female Mubtadi’ah. As for Mubtieh, its meaning is general innovation and creativity and is not related to bid’ah (but they both derive from the B-D-AIN root, which, as mentioned, is also the root for one of the 99 names of Allah).
