Full Meaning of Mylhan
Mylhan is an indirect Quranic name for boys and girls that refers to Kanoon al-Awwal or Kanoon ath-Thani (the months of December or January in English). The name comes from milh (salt), which is also used to refer to a pure white color, and December/January is named so due to its whiteness caused by snowfall. It comes from the M-L-H6 root (salt) which is used twice in the Quran.
AND HE it is who has given freedom of movement to the two great bodies of water – the one sweet and thirst-allaying, and the other salty and bitter – and yet has wrought between them a barrier and a forbidding ban. (Quran 25:53)
The two oceans, one sweet and the other salty, are not alike. From each you can eat fresh meat and obtain ornaments to use. You see ships ploughing their way through them so that you may seek His favor and give Him thanks. (Quran 35:12)
