Full Meaning of Basheeir
Basheeir is a direct Quranic name for boys that means “bringer of good news”, “bringer of glad tidings”, and it is one of the words that the Quran uses to describe Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Basheeir is used nine times in the Quran.
O People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), there has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you [the religion] after a period [of suspension] of messengers, lest you say, “There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner.” But there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And Allah is over all things competent. (Quran 5:19)
Say, “I hold not for myself [the power of] benefit or harm, except what Allah has willed. And if I knew the unseen, I could have acquired much wealth, and no harm would have touched me. I am not except a warner and a bringer of good tidings to a people who believe.” (Quran 7:188)
