Meaning of Ihsan
Ihsan is a direct Quranic name for boys, and less commonly for girls, that means “kindness”, “graciousness”, “generosity”. It comes from the Husn (beauty) root, and its literal meaning is “to do what is beautiful toward others”. In Islam, Ihsan refers to doing what is good, kind, and pleasing to Allah. Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression. He admonishes you that perhaps you will be reminded. (Quran 16:90)

I am a girl and my name is Ihsane. I used to be embarassed because of it, not because of the meaning, I am really proud and happy and honoured to have such a beautiful name, but I live in a non-arabic country and people usually struggle to pronounce it properly. But I’ve learned to like it. Plus, it is very unique for a girl and I love that I will probably never meet someone who has the same name as me 🙂
