I’ve a question on “When to name a Child”. I’ve read somewhere on the internet stating that the name of a child irrespective of the gender should be decided by the parents prior to the birth. Wanted to know what is the legitimacy of the above statement.
I’m aware of the hadith that a child be named on the day of the birth or on the 7th day.
When consulted a Moulvi, he said based on the time of birth we should name a child.
Could someone tell me, can we decide on a preferred name for the child prior to the birth or go by the Moulvi?
