Dua name of baby girl

Asalamualaikum,
we named our baby girl Dua but now some people are saying that it is not a name at all. Is that true ? I am very confused. please help.

Do you mean, as in, “du’aa”?

If that’s the case then, in my opinion, I recommend choosing a different name:

Khadeejah, Maymoonah, Asmaa’, Aa’eshah, Aaseyah, Hafsah, Haajar, etc.

Dua is an acceptable name since it has a good meaning. Any word can be used as a name as long as it has a good meaning. Their saying “it is not a name” makes absolutely no sense.
