Full Meaning of Adem

Adem is a direct Quranic name for boys that refers to the first human that God created, who was also the first prophet, peace be upon him. Adem according to some linguists is related to Adeem, which means “dust”, since God created Adem from dust, or from Admah, which means “surface of the Earth”. The word Adem mentioned 20 times in the Quran.

BEHOLD, God raised Adem, and Noah, and the House of Abraham, and the House of `Imran above all mankind. (Quran 3:33)

Verily, in the sight of God, the nature of Jesus is as the nature of Adem, whom He created out of dust and then said unto him, “Be” – and he is. (Quran 3:59)
