nadia means someone you call upon in times of need, or your supporters.
Its mentioned in surat al-alaq in aya 17. The context of this surah is that its talking about people who stop worshippers from praying. Allah says that he will drag this person by their “lying sinning forelock (drag him by his hair)”. That person will then call upon his associates/supporters (nadiya) to help him, but Allah will call on the angels to push him into hell (zabaniyah).
The ayas transliteration go something like “fal yadau nadiya, sanadau al-zabaniya”.

Person who mentioned Nadia for Russians. That is a different name. It comes from name Nadjezda (hope). Russians shorten their names into short nicknames. Nadia is nickname of Nadjezda and it has nothing to do with Islamic name. Islamic Nadia has totally different meaning and origin, they just happen to sound a bit alike.
