Meaning of Lailah

Lailah is an Arabic name for girls that means “night”, which is a word used eight times in the Quran. This name should not be confused with the common Arabic name Laila; they are completely different names with different meanings and pronunciations (though they both come from the L-Y-L root).

We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil). (Quran 44:3)
