Confused with the meaning of Sana

Hey,
I have been looking at the different of meanings of Sana on your site and all the meanings don’t match to the meaning which I was told. Okay Maybe it doesn’t matter but I want to know. My parents told me the meaning of ‘Sana’ is ‘praise to God’ and ‘praise’, they say it also the name of few ayat which we read in ‘Qayyam’while reading ‘Salah’ and this is how I have been writing it since my Childhood ( ثناء ) and I spell it in English like this (Sana). I saw the other meanings on your site, nothing is matching with it. Please clear my confusion.
