A Quranic Name for Boys

Zuwreb is variant of Zuraib and has the exact same meaning and pronunciation (see below for full meaning). You can use either Zuwreb or Zuraib, both are correct and acceptable. If you like this variant more and you'd like to pronounce it the way it is spelled (different than the original name), this is perfectly acceptable. Full Meaning of Zuwreb

Zuwreb is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “fierce attacker”. It is the name of one of the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet ﷺ) whose full name is  Zuwreb ibn Naqeer ibn Sumair. Zuwreb is derived from the DHAD-R-B root (“to strike”) which is used in many places in the Quran.

And We divided them into twelve descendant tribes [as distinct] nations. And We inspired to Moses when his people implored him for water, “Strike with your staff the stone,” and there gushed forth from it twelve springs. Every people knew its watering place. And We shaded them with clouds and sent down upon them manna and quails, [saying], “Eat from the good things with which We have provided you.” And they wronged Us not, but they were [only] wronging themselves. (Quran 7:160)
