Wania is an indirect Quranic name for girls that means “soft, gentle breeze”. It is derived from the W-N-Y root (softened, weakened, slackened) which is used in the Quran in 20:42:

Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance.

Some sites say Wania is also a Hebrew word meaning gift from Allah, and one site says it means pearl. All of the meanings are acceptable, for this reason Muslims can use this name.
