Roman can be an English word that means “from Rome” or “related to Rome”, such as the Roman empire.

Roman is also a Kurdish word that means “novel”, “epic tale”.

Neither meaning is an Islamic name, but Muslims can use either since they do not have bad meanings. Some Muslims will not like the fact that it is associated with the Roman empire whom the Muslims fought in battle. For this reason if you use the Kurdish meaning it will be safer.
