why are people so extra nowadays, just because she is called sumayyah doesnt mean she is a show off or isnt nice honestly for those who rely on meanings dont cause the name of a person doesnt go with character thats different, these beutiful islamic names are for us to be named and be like the orgin of those people who have been named e.g sumayyah (ra) , think of the name sumayyah as the first female martyr in islam and aim to be like her ,inshallah

Everyone is different and unique in their OWN way. There may be a sumayya you know who is arrogant etc. But that is HER character. The Arabic meaning of the name Sumayyah is ‘high up’ And although not everyone lives up to their names, the meaning of the name never changes and nor does the name become a bad name based on the character of the person who poses that name, may allah (swt) guide us all !ameen .
