Sad is variant of Saad and has the exact same meaning and pronunciation (see below for full meaning). You can use either Sad or Saad, both are correct and acceptable. Full Meaning of Sad

Sad is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “happiness”, “blessedness”. It is the name of many famous companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah upon him and his companions, such as Sad ibn Muadh, Sad bin Ubadah, Sad ibn Abi Waqqas. It is derived from the S-Ain-D root which is used in many places in the Quran.

The day it arrives, no soul shall speak except by His leave: of those (gathered) some will be wretched and some will be blessed. (Quran 11:105)
