Najem is a direct Quranic name for boys and girls that means “star”, “luminary”, “source of inspiration”. The word Najem is mentioned four times in the Quran, and is also the name of chapter 53 of the Quran: Surat an-Najem.

as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. (Quran 16:16)
