Mergeyya is variant of Marjia and has the exact same meaning and pronunciation (see below for full meaning). You can use either Mergeyya or Marjia, both are correct and acceptable. If you like this variant more and you'd like to pronounce it the way it is spelled (different than the original name), this is perfectly acceptable. Full Meaning of Mergeyya

Mergeyya means “wanted”, “wished for”, “desirable”. It is not directly mentioned in the Quran, but it is derived from R-J-A root which is used in the Quran, as in 39:9:

Is he who prays devoutly to God in the hours of the night, prostrating himself and standing in prayer, who is ever mindful of the life to come and hopes for the mercy of his Lord [like one who does not]? Say, ‘Are those who know equal to those who do not know?’ Truly, only those endowed with understanding will take heed.
