    The root of the name goes back to ancient Persian in Zoroastrian times. And its meaning is “like the sun“ or ”the Sunlight”

    And similarly in Azeri Iranian, Anna means mother. And Mehr in Zoroastrian Persian means love, kindness. So that the other meaning of this name is “the kind mother” or “motherly love/kindness”.
