Mahrosh is formed from Persian Mah ("moon") and rosh (variant of rooshan, meaning "bright"), the full meaning is "bright like the moon". The name can be written as Mahrosh, Mahroosh, Mehrush, Mahrush. It can be pronounced [(MA)n + (H)ot] + [(R)un + fl(O)w + (SH)op], [(MA)n + (H)ot] + [(R)un + s(OO)n + (SH)op], [(MU)st + (H)ot] + [(R)un + fl(O)w + (SH)op] or [(MU)st + (H)ot] + [(R)un + s(OO)n + (SH)op]. It is written as ماهروش in Persian.
Mahrosh is not an Islamic name but Muslims can use it since it has a good meaning.
