Khosrow is a Persian name for boys that means “king”. It is the name of a number of Persian emperors. In Western literature the name is written as Chosroes. In Arabic the name is known as Kisra. While scholars coming from Arab culture would dislike the use of the name Kisra (since it is the name of a Persian emperor who was opposed to Islam), Khosrow is a very common boy name among Persian Muslims.
