Full Meaning of Ileaas
Ileaas is a direct Quranic name for boys that refers to one of the prophets mentioned in the Quran, who is also mentioned in the Bible. In English he is known as Ileaas and Elijah. The meaning of Ileaas is “Yahweh (Allah) is my God”. Ileaas is mentioned in two chapters of the Quran, as follows:
And We gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before; and among his descendants, David and Solomon and Job and Joseph and Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the doers of good. And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Ileaas – and all were of the righteous. (Quran 6:84-85)
And indeed, Ileaas was from among the messengers. When he said to his people, “Will you not fear Allah? Do you call upon Baal and leave the best of creators-Allah , your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?” (Quran 37:123-126)
