Naming as Abeer

Dear Brother/Sister,

We are expecting our first child In Sha Allah. We have shortlisted “Abeer” (عبير) as the name of our child. All the websites I have seen mention it as feminine name and the meaning as Fragrance, perfume. I would like to know, if the name “Abeer” can be kept for a boy child? Is it allowed? Will the meaning be suitable for boys?

I wanted to let you know that my name is Abeer I’m 24 and man I don’t see why it can’t be a name for men and women the meaning of the name is ‘ubur’ it’s the morning fragrance from a flower I have also been told I’m Arabic it is used as a verb regarding the fragrance of the flowers in the morning.
