IzaanGuestThis is NOT a Quranic name, but Muslims can use it since it doesn’t have a bad meaning.
It is usually derived from the name Maria and its variants (Miriam, Maryam, Mary), but it is reportedly also used as a hypocoristic of names such as Amalia,Amelia, Emilia, Emily or Maya. -

EmilyGuestThank you! I don’t know that I’ll ever get to name a daughter, astaghfirullah, but knowing the meanings of names still matters when one is asked to look after another person’s child I think.
But I’m also a wine-drunk aunt, so what do I know?

LeeGuestThis name can somewhat be used if one has a preference to it. As long as it has some sort of meaning that’s all that matters.
