Full Meaning of Eywa

Eywa is an indirect Quranic name for boys and girls that means “to provide refuge”, “to provide safety”, “to protect”. It is derived from the A-W-A root which is used in many places in the Quran.

When those youths took refuge in the cave, they prayed: “O our Sustainer! Bestow on us grace from Thyself, and endow us, whatever our [outward] condition, with consciousness of what is right!” (Quran 18:10)
