A Quranic Name for Boys and Girls

Meaning: Clear, Eloquent, Lucid and Distinct

Elhan is variant of Ilhan and has the exact same meaning and pronunciation (see below for full meaning). You can use either Elhan or Ilhan, both are correct and acceptable. If you like this variant more and you'd like to pronounce it the way it is spelled (different than the original name), this is perfectly acceptable. Full Meaning of Elhan

Elhan is an indirect Quranic name for boys and girls that means to eloquently state something, to say something beautifully, to have a beautiful voice, and to read Quran in a beautiful voice. It is derived from the L-H6-N (tone) root which is used in the Quran in Surat Muhammad:

أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ أَنْ لَنْ يُخْرِجَ اللَّهُ أَضْغَانَهُمْ (29) وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَأَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِي لَحْنِ الْقَوْلِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَالَكُمْ (30) وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتَّى نَعْلَمَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَنَبْلُوَ أَخْبَارَكُمْ

Or do those in whose hearts is disease think that Allah will not bring forth their [feelings of] hatred? And if We willed, We could show them to you, and you would know them by their mark; but you will surely know them by the tone of [their] speech. And Allah knows your deeds. And We will surely test you until We make evident those who strive among you [for the cause of Allah] and the patient, and We will test your affairs. (Quran 47:29-31)

Elhan can also be derived from the L-H26-N (gift) root with the meaning “to give a gift to someone who has arrived from a journey.” This root is not Quranic, for this reason if you want to keep the Quranic connection, use the meaning mentioned earlier at the top.
