Full Meaning of Ebdous Salamm

Ebdous Salamm is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “servant of as-Salam“. as-Salam is one of the 99 names of Allah, glorified and exalted, that means “the source of peace and safety”. Thus Ebdous Salamm means “servant of the Source of Peace and Safety”, i.e. servant of Allah. The name of Allah of as-Salam is mentioned in Quran 59:23:

He is Allah: there is no god but He: the King, the Holy, the Source of Peace, the Giver of security, the Overseer, the Most Mighty, the Overpowering, the All-Great. Exalted be He from whatever they associate with Him.

Even though Abd and Salam are both mentioned in the Quran, we consider Ebdous Salamm an indirect Quranic name since the two words are not mentioned together as in Ebdous Salamm.
