I kept my daughters name anaya after reading its meaning here as dilligence care protection. It said it has da same meaning as inaya. However now several people who gave deep knowledge of arabic are telling me that i should have kept the name inaya and not anaya as they have different meanings. Inaya means gods gift care n protection whereas anaya means struggle n hardship. Please clarify and help Thanks

The only Arabic dictionary that mentions the Anaya variant is Qamoos al-Muheet, which mentions it right after Inaya, as if they are synonyms. I cannot find any information that says the two names have different meanings. Can you please ask those people where they get their information from? (What book or dictionary), and inshAllah we will check it out.
