Full Meaning of Dama

Dama is an indirect Quranic name for girls that means river, sea and ocean. It is derived from the D-W-M root (to continue), due to the fact that the flow of a river, and the waves of the sea are perpetual and never end.

They said, ‘We will never enter it, Moses, as long as they continue to be there. Go, you and your Lord, and fight, and we will stay here.’ (Quran 5:24)

Those who are blessed shall abide in the Garden; they will dwell therein as long as the heavens and the earth continue to exist, except as your Lord wills. Such bounty shall be unending. (Quran 11:108)
