Full Meaning of Ash’al

Ash’al is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “most brilliant”, “most bright”, “best kindled (fire)”. Ash’al is derived from the SH-AIN-L root which is used in Chapter 19 of the Quran:

He said, “My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has flared up with white (hairs), and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.” (Quran 19:4)
