Full Meaning of Arslan

Arslan is a Turkish name for boys that means “lion”, “fearless”. It is also used in Kurdish, Persian and Urdu. The modern Turkish word for “lion” is Aslan, Arslan is an older and more literary word. It is the name of various Turkish leaders in history, such as a general under Tamerlane. Arslan is written as Erselan in the modern Turkish alphabet (but the pronunciation is the same as the one in the pronunciation guide above).
