Full Meaning of Zimaalle
Zimaalle is an indirect Quranic name for girls that means any large item of clothing that covers the entire body, such as a garment, robe, or abaya. It also means “provisions for a journey.” It is derived from the Z-M-L root which is used in the Quran in 73:1, and is also used in the title of the chapter, al-Muzzammil:
O you who have wrapped up in your garments! Keep awake [in prayer] at night, all but a small part; half of it, or reduce it a little; or add to it [at will]; and [during that time] recite the Qur’an calmly and distinctly, for We are about to send down to you a heavy message. (Quran 73:1-5)
