Zahid comes from the word ‘Zuhud’. It means to lead life of simplicity in lifestyle as well as workmanship so as to be free to remain devoted in acts of worship. Zahid is the one leads a life of great simplicity and devotion yo Allah. This was the quality of the Prophets, righteous and scholars of the past.
