Salam, Whould you please tell me what is the meaning and origin of Shabaka and Shahraan? Will i keep those names for my baby boy?

Answer

This is an official answer by QuranicNames.com Staff

For Shabaka please see: Can Muslims use the name Shabaka

Sharaan is a Kurdish name that means "city", "cities". It is used for both boys and girls. It is not an Islamic name but Muslim can use it since it doesn't have a bad meaning. It is pronounced [(SHA)rp] +[p(R)ay + m(AN)], written as شاران, and in English it can also be written as Sharan.

Some sites say Sharaan is an Indian name. We cannot verify this, but we can guarantee that the Kurdish meaning is correct and acceptable, for this reason you can go with the Kurdish meaning.
