Full Meaning of Reheeim
Reheeim is a direct Quranic name for boys that means “merciful”, “kind”, “compassionate”, “tenderhearted”. It is one of the most common words in the Quran, mentioned more than 200 times. It is the source of Allah’s name of ar-Reheeim, but without the “ar-” it becomes a general and acceptable name for boys, and the Quran uses it to describe the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah upon him.
To you has come a Prophet from among you. Any sorrow that befalls you weighs upon him; He is eager for your happiness, full of concern for the faithful, compassionate and kind. (Quran 9:128)
“Our Lord! And make us submissive towards you and from our offspring a nation obedient to You – and show us the ways of our worship, and incline towards us with Your mercy; indeed You only are the Most Acceptor of Repentance, the Most Merciful.” (Quran 2:128)
