Slam

So I am wondering in the future when I have kids I’d like to give them different surnames, so non family names.
Is it acceptable to give all four different surnames, names being chosen by my preference or is it haram or such.

I know you are supposed to inherit your fathers surname but I have met a few girls who have feminine surnames such as zara.

Is it permissible to name my children different surnames from each other like

Imani and Samah being a surname or must I stick with a traitional surname like Ahmed, Hussain Mohammed ?
