Qandeel(قنديل) is traditionally a female name with Arabic origins. It is also spelled as Qandil or Kandil It means Light, Skylight, Noor, Chandelier, Lantern

The meanings you have given are correct. when small kids, we used to hang around in the neightbourhood carying quandeels (earthen pots with ornamented holes) with lights placed inside.
