Full Meaning of Obeyd

Obeyd is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “servant”, as in “servant of Allah”. Obeyd is the name of many companions of the Prophet ﷺ, such as Obeyd al-Ansari and Obeyd Abu Abdurrahman. It is derived from the AIN-B-D root which is used in many places in the Quran.

The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to servants. (Quran 50:29)
