A Quranic Name for Boys and Girls

Kheleiph is variant of Khaleef and has the exact same meaning and pronunciation (see below for full meaning). You can use either Kheleiph or Khaleef, both are correct and acceptable. If you like this variant more and you'd like to pronounce it the way it is spelled (different than the original name), this is perfectly acceptable. Full Meaning of Kheleiph

Kheleiph is an indirect Quranic name for boys and girls. It means “successor” (synonym of Kheleipha), “heir”, “a road that goes between two mountains”, or any path that is found in the mountains, including paths through which water flows. It is derived from the Kh-L-F root which is found in many locations in the Quran.

When your Lord said to the angels, ‘I am putting a successor on earth,’ they said, ‘Will You place someone there who will cause corruption on it and shed blood, while we glorify You with Your praise and extol Your holiness?’ [God] answered, ‘Surely, I know that which you do not know.’ (Quran 2:30)

It is He who has made you successors [of others] on the earth and has exalted some of you over the others in degrees of rank, so that He may test you by that which He has given you. Your Lord is swift in punishment; yet surely He is forgiving, and merciful. (Quran 6:165)
