Israa is an Arabic name for girls that means “night journey”, a journey made during the night. It is the name of one of the chapters of the Quran (chapter 17) and the word refers to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) miraculous night journey from Mecca to Jerusalem during one night.

    Its such a adorable name.
    Why change it!
And remember it is the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) miraculous night journey from Mecca to Jerusalem during one night.
In that context the meaning is good too. Because it is linked to that special journey – Not just any night journey.

    Dear Israa’s father,
hope you are doing well, actually the meaning of Esraa or Israa is journey in the night for holy and spiritual reason not any night journey, actually my name is Esraa and I am very proud of it, its much more better than Ishra to me.

    warm regards,
    Esraa Rayyan
