There r two opinions about this name.either it has Arabic roots or Spanish(xavier in spanish).not sure if it is mentioned in Quran or not.i kept my baby’s name zaviar bcz I was satisfied tht it’s a Muslim name bcz I raed something on Wikipedia where there was a reference of a book in which the writer of th book mentioned tht originally moorish Muslims(early Muslims who came to Spain) used to keep this name and was adopted by Spanish people later on

Xavier on Wikipedia shows was an Arabic origin and means bright. Zaviyar on one website shows meaning brave. Not sure if it’s correct. Pls verify ?

Waslaam. There were many knights that killed a lot of Muslims. I do know for a fact that there was a Yazeed who killed the grandson of our Prophet SAW and there was a friend of Ameer Ul Momineen by that name as well. Act of a bad person does not malign the name because the name also belongs to a good person. If tomorrow an atrocity is committed by a person with the same name as yourself would you condemn your entire family to forsake your name? My tone for this answer is not a severe one as it may seem like with the words being used it’s more towards enlightenment.
