Meaning of Anees
Anees is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “one who is friendly and gentle with others”, “one whose words are consoling”, “one whose presence brings calm and peace”. Aneesa is derived from the A-N-S (to recognize”, “to perceive”) root which is used in many places in the Quran.
And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, “Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire.
